Small Business Saturday-November 26, 2011

More and more, consumers are beginning to turn away from the big-box stores and shop smaller, and local. As a resident of the only state capitol without a McDonald’s In the city limit- I am so proud of the community I live in. Too often, you hear of chain stores moving into an area- and the devastating toll that has on the small businesses that sit in their shadows. As the small businesses slowly disappear, the community is changed forever. I hope you’ll join me in supporting “Small Business Saturday” this year. See below:

“First there was Black Friday, then Cyber Monday. Now, there’s the 2nd annual Small Business Saturday, the day people support small businesses. Pledge to Shop SmallSM on Nov 26th. If millions of Americans shop small, it will be huge.”

A Royal Thank-You!

It’s taken me a while to get this up on the site, but I wanted to share it with you all.  In February, I received a thank-you letter in the mail from Saint James’s Palace!  The thank-you was for a charm necklace that I had sent to Princess Kate Middleton on the occasion of her upcoming wedding to Prince William.  It was a thrill to get such a personalized and signed letter.

I am so please to say that Alloy Jewelry’s “Family Ring” Necklace made it to the pages on the 2011 Pregnancy and Newborn Magazine’s Buyer’s Guide.  Check it out-on stands NOW!  The very first Family Ring Necklace was made for my sister.  Out of all the Alloy Jewelry necklaces she has, she started wearing this one ALL the time.  With her encouragement, I decided to put it up on the site.  xo
